I think it is a Harris Hawk.

Birds of Prey are not my forte when it comes to ID, but all Harris Hawks I've seen have been quite dark in their colouration, this could probably be a juvenile though.
Problem with captive birds is you don't know their country of origin so don't know where to start looking.

Harris Hawkss have much more yellow on the beak too.
Could it be a buzzard?

Although I do tend to take shots of Raptors Harris Hawks are not one of my specialist areas. However I would say that this may be a juvenile, may well be wrong though and would like to be corrected if someone is certain?

I don't think this is a Harris Hawk because the plumage is not dark enough and as Gwyn said the beak has much more yellow on it. I will keep looking through my numerous bird and hope to find the answer. Also have you thought about sending the photo to the Bird of Prey centre to see if they can identify it for you?

Looks like a cross between a Sparrow and a Harris Hawk!
Although the beak might be off a Parrot

It's definitely a bird, not the plane of the same name.

After checking through all my books I googled Common Buzard and I think Chris is right, I would check it out for your self though just to be sure.

As it goes (and I'm no expert on such issues) I think this bird might be a Red Kite - once referred to as the 'shite-hawk'.

Don't red kites have a lighter (grey/white) head?

It isn't a Buzzard...the colours look wrong for such a bird to me. I'd upload one of my own Kite images for comparison but I've apparently slipped into dummy mode during the course of the day and can't therefore work out how to do so

Hawk by RM BRIGHT, on Flickr
It was taken last year at the Bird of Prey Centre at the Shuttleworth Collection but I didn't take note of what it was
If anyone has any idea please let me know.
