Just come across this.
Av mostly, some Manual and a little Bulb.
Never used Prog. ( can't figure it out )
Only used the presets once or twice.

AV most of the time but when i switch off the camera i always set to auto so if i see a shot i need to take quickly from the camera being off i just switch on and shoot with out having to think about aperture or shutter speed. got some good shots doing this i might have missed otherwise, but each to their own.

To be honest, that's not a bad idea!AV most of the time but when i switch off the camera i always set to auto so if i see a shot i need to take quickly from the camera being off i just switch on and shoot with out having to think about aperture or shutter speed. got some good shots doing this i might have missed otherwise, but each to their own.

I don't always use that mode, but when I don't, the shots I get are very under-exposed.

Manual 98% of the time
only time I don't is if I need to use flash -which is rare as I prefer ambient or lightpainting with my Lenser P7

It appears I'm the only one who uses Tv.
Since clicking Tv in the poll I've started using Tav.

TV for fast moving things (rockets)
AV when I am out and about
M when using old lenses or I want to try and take "clever" pictures but usually fail

Still getting back into having a viewfinder, but Av more often than not, with the odd bit of TAv.
I tend to leave camera in green or program in case I need a quick snap, but then change to Av anyway Think it's because I spent so long shooting Av day to day with my old M*n*lt* kit.
Not done any fast moving stuff yet, but I think TAv must have replaced straight shutter priority to a point - the joys of a variable ISO!
Re ISO, what's the point of an ISO priority mode by the way? Surely this is just a program mode with a vague ability to influence range of shutter and aperture selected. Is there a practical use for this?
Sorry if this sounds n00by, it's been a long time since I've used an SLR and the first time using a DSLR.
Cheers
