That's come together so well for you - no wonder you're a happy TT now! Well done, worth the wait.
Ditto re lagging for the pipe, if it's for hot (especially if it's so close to what might be the cold water?).

All pipes are lagged - and they are actually all on internal walls
Ceiling now has 6 ins of insulation - which it didn't before
The whole kitchen was rewired and the fridge freezer comes off its own circuit , not the kitchen one. Oh we also had to re-route all the water and waste pipes [ another horror from the past ] AND we had to bring gas into the kitchen for the very first time. I had had an elderly part Halogen hob and the Microwave/combination Convection oven for the 10+ years I'd been in the house
You really don't want to know the horrors we found once the walls etc were stripped , we were horrified and I was sooooooo thankful that nothing had actually gone wrong in past years.
I was very thankful that my precious azulejos was saved - yes it IS Portugese and was made for us .

Well done, I am not going to let my other half see this, my lens fund is small enough as it is.

Sorry about that HG
The original kitchen dated back to 1957 [ when the house was built ] and had never really been finished properly , just altered from time to time , nothing matched and it was just a jumble of cupboards etc .. Apparently there was originally a table in there too , round which they all sat and ate - and I can't imagine HOW you got a table for 4 in there and cooking stuff as well . The original sink was where my cooker now is - where the cooker was I have no idea .

Looks like it was worth all the hassle. Enjoy baking and making full use of that double oven.
Hope your children appreciate it when they visit .

Great stuff TT - let`s see if it lasts until 2063 !! Excellent use of picture tiles too if I may say so.
Let me know how effective the extraction fan is please - mine`s useless but then I do tend to cook very hot and very fast !! Controlled caramelisation I call it !!

That extractor was very good in the old kitchen - somehow , despite being newly serviced, it's he..... noisy - one of the fan blades must be catching on something - will have to be investigated and sorted / replaced - John is coming back to trace 1 underfloor cable which has got us totally featherlegged as it just seems to vanish
The unit over the cooker is good - light is surprisingly effective and the fans are 3 speed but again the motor is rather noisy but they did work well while I was making stews , mince and chicken casseroles [ 2 of ] the other day .
Glad you like the azulejos It's a very early pic of our town's main street which we found in a book and it was scanned and given to the artist in Portugal . The result is what you saw
