I started with a 4GB Sandisk Extreme III. Then I got a 16G Transcend because the shots for a few bokeh panos would fill the 4GB card. The 4GB is now serving in the GX1L, and the K5 has a 32GB 7dayshop card in it now, with the 16GB as a backup in the grip. Don't really need 32GB but it was cheap and it is fast.

2 x 4GB
2 x 8GB
2 x 32GB and two 16GB are on their way.
For video, the 32s are superb. The 16s are fast and I want to be able to not worry about squeezing 600 shots (an hours worth of rally...) onto one card.
4GB is laughable with RAW+, I think I'm hitting around 150 shots on one of those. Since I have three batteries but not necessarily any disk backup with me, the card size is important.

2x16gb one of which is a micro card in an adapter which seems as fast as the other. I'd have bought 32gb cards but wasn't sure if the camera would accept them then.

Three 8gb Sandisk. Big enough to cope with a day down the kart track although I usually end up finishing the day on a second card. The third is a just in case. The reason I haven't gone for bigger is after a friend of mine went on holiday and used a 16GB card, it got corrupted and he lost all his holiday shots, so my answer is: carry lots of smaller ones and in the event of loss or damage don't lose all shots.

I had a 8gb and a 4gb sandisk extreme III for the K10D but the photos on the K5 are a bit larger so i first bought a 16GB for that but that was too small and now have two...

3 x 8GB cards all less than £15, no problems but writing speed is annoyingly slow on occasion- time to upgrade perhaps.
