I prefer the closer shots, the last one looks like they were a bit of a rabble! A bit like the marginot line, I think the enemy can just go round them and they'd probably trip each other up trying to turn round.
Nice events though and good photo opportunities if we're selective.

Lovely images. The participants obviously take their hobby seriously.
Being pedantic, this appears to be an English Civil War re-enactment - definitely post mediaeval.

And as John says the closer shots work better, the last one shows how small a group the pikemen are, so easily outflanked they wouldn't last a minute.

Ah the English Civil War, the biggest waste of time and life this country has ever seen. I think the only good thing to come out of it is the re-enactments which allow us togs to grab some snaps.
