Following sandinista's recent success, I have been successful in the BBC Countryfile photographic competition for inclusion in their 2012 calendar.

This shot http://www.flickr.com/photos/notlefs/6074181842/in/photostream won the category "The lighter side of country life".

The twelve images selected by the judges will be featured in a future edition of the programme and there will be a public telephone vote to determine the overall winner.

I'll post details of how to vote for my photo here when available.

Given the number of photos they get sent, and the number of calenders sold, this is a very big deal indeed.

Many many congrats Steve. Excellent image that nailed their brief for this year. And just brilliant that they'll be pentax representation on the calender.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone.

The BBC has confirmed that the competition will be featured in the edition of the programme to be broadcast on Sunday 11 September.

For anyone who can't watch it, I will post details of the voting arrangements here after the programme.

Is that all? With an audience of 6.44 million (14 Aug 2011) I'd have expected more.

Many congratulations... you deserve to feel very, very chuffed... just imagine over 6 Million people looking at your picture on the TV in a couple of weeks!!
