Well, she's very brave, stripping off in the middle of October!

Firstly, I think 14 pictures is way too many to post if you're expecting comments in detail. Two, or three max - otherwise you're just expecting too much of people's time.

I'll have a go, though. I know nothing about glamour photography from personal experience, but I'll just make a few comments as they occur to me.

To be honest, I find the background very distracting in almost all of these. It's neither sharp enough to be a feature of the composition, nor blurred enough to really focus the attention on the model.

I think #4 would be Ok in this regard if you cropped to exclude the grassy bits on the right, and very carefully cloned out the tree tops poking out above the block.

I'm also struggling not to be distracted by the slanting lines in the background of the latter ones.

I like the pose in the first one, but it's spoiled by the harsh shadow under her chin, and the way you can't see her eyes.

I almost like #11, the slanting background aside, but her right arm position looks a little contrived, and although her face is nice, as soon as the eye moves down to the second most important feature of the photo, the annoying half-unfolded waistband of her knickers spoils the line there.

The exposure in #11 is nice, though, unlike #13 and #14 which have far too much fill-in flash.

I almost like #12, too - the presence of the fence makes the background less annoying, somehow, since the fence and the hedge are now relevant to the shot. The sticking up bits of the top of the hedge spoil it though, since they distract from her hair (which is gorgeous) and her face.

Some of them are verging on unflattering, in particular #5. I can't help thinking that it's not ideal to make a slim girl's tummy look fatter than her bust.

Sorry not to be more positive, but they don't do much for me, and the foliage in the background I find quite infuriating.

It makes me realise how hard it must be to do glamour well!

I agree with Chris's comments, and I knew it was you just from seeing his comment, Geo!

This sort of photography really isn't my cup of tea, but that aside, I think the background is just incongruous with the model and the few clothes she is actually wearing! I do prefer Tim's approach, which usually involves a totally nude model in a pristine natural location. It's strange how wearing no clothes looks less seedy than partial nudity

Thanks Chris for your comments. It is very good that you point out your view. This is the only way to learn and improve. I could do much to blur the background since pentax's syn speed is only 1/160 with a wireless trigger. Perhaps I will need to buy some ND filters in order to darken the sunlight and try to shoot with larger aperture. Many shots I done I had to stop down to F9-F11 and the shots that I could blur the background is those I didn;t use any fill in flash at all and it is very hard to control shadow and I was the only person shooting so a reflector wasn;t an option for me.

Hope someone will come up with a wireless trigger system with high speed syn.

Bright sunlight like that (even in winter) is way too harsh for portraits, you would have been better on a bright but overcast day, of course you'd then lose the blue skies so the only other alternative is to get up early before the sun gets too high, of course non of these suggestions is going to help you get a model to remove much clothing

As has been said way to many images to comment on.

First off an halterneck bikini tops needs some boobs to fill it. A push up bikini top would have made for a curvier body which would have suited the model poses more... a few of them also have shadows on the legs...

I would have also used the morph tool a little to boost body parts and shrink other parts also removed some skin creases...

You have something to work on. A little touch here and there would make a difference...

Here is my 2 cents on this, and apologies if I am not a Pentax user anymore but I was once, and still have some great friends here in the forum, hence once in a while still dropping by and saying hi

I fully agree with both the above comments, and in fact these are way too many images to comment but hey, as I have some free time here it goes.

First of all I am not sure if really having the ability of synching higher your flash would have helped to improve these images, their flaws are really basic, you need to improve on aspects that have nothing to do with flash synching.

Below a breakdown of images, and taking it for granted and I too consider this the wrong environment for such a photo shoot but I will concentrate on some other technical and artistic aspects.

#1 The area of shadow/lighting is so bad here that you will have to rethink again the whole approach. I notice shadows where you should have done most to avoid. Underside of the tummy's little bulge that little shadow should really have been taken care of with lighting. The shadow enhances that area. But what I find it most striking on this image, in a bad way unfortunately is you got the angle so bad that the perception of the head size compared to the body length is so wrong that it feels as if the model has a tiny head in comparision to the rest of the body. The tilt of the head also is wrong.

#2 Note the left side rib cage of the model. I think I don't need even to go into words for this. You got it totally wrong there, you should have guided the model not to enhance that spot like that.

#3 For me this is the worse one. You should have avoided the harsh shadows of the right thigh falling on to the left one. That line of harsh shadow is a total no no. Viewer cannot notice if its the bikini or the shadow, either way looks bad.

#4 Too pale, you missed the White balance on this one. And again the shadows around the tummy area

#5 Don't know what you were trying to achieve on this one, but looks as if you were trying to enhance the chest area but there seems to have no basis for it. She doesn't seem to have been blessed by nature with an anatomy that you could make use of that posture.

#6 With the horizon tilted like this gives the feeling she is about to slide back and fall off the bench

#7 I could be wrong here as my monitor is not calibrated but seems you have blown the highlights here. The model has stunning eyes and a lovely face, you lost a chance of making use of a beautiful moment to capture that sensual expression and draw the attention to her eyes and lips

#8 This is one that if it wasnt't that part of her glute that is pressed to the bench edge and make it look awkward I really feel the image would have been nice

#9 Again the glute here, but the expression and overall image looks good, the far off glance works for me

#10 The shadow on the right side of her face ruins an otherwise nice image and pose

#11 Nice pose, nice expression, please clone and smoothen that pinch of the bench where the right thigh is,

#12 Finally one that I like. That cowgirl look in a Texan ranch, only the hat missing

#13 Looks awkward, the pose,

#14 Definitely wrong position to have the legs like that, doesn't work for me at all, not even sensual.
