Ok, I will make a start here to test the waters. It's probably not straight to the theme but it doesn't matter as I'm running "out of competition" this week (have to cruise the Atlantic waves for a while).

Not really a corner shop but a smoking oven at the bank of the local river where the fishermen sell their catch to locals and tourists.

This was the local paper shop in my parents village. The keeper has long since gone...

I love this photo, but I have to be honest that it probably doesn't fit the theme since it is not really local. (the signs would give that away )
Unfortunately we only have the big box stores around here.
Perhaps some day I'll move to Florence or nearby -- it was a fantastic place to visit. (it was local at the time but I certainly understand if it has to be disqualified from the theme.)

I decided to give this competion ago. Although, looking at some of your works, I nearly didn't.

I appreciate many of us use the huge supermarkets, but,
hoping most of you have at least one corner shop of sorts.
By entering this week, you all have the perfect excuse to use,
to get your winning shot.
Good luck and looking forward to some varied and far flung entries
