Well done George for some excellent and very timely judging - which can't have been at all easy!

Blimey, that was unexpected. Not least because your detailed judgment was so incredibly prompt. Being 3 hours + GMT here in Addis, I wasn't expecting your assessment first time I logged on this morning. Kudos! Not sure I will be able to match this next week, though I will do my best.

Anyway, many thanks George for the judging - glad you liked the photo, which I took on a trip out of Addis last w/e. Also, thanks to all the other entrants - as usual I enjoyed taking in the photos as they appeared on the site, and am extremely flattered for mine to have been selected from some great images.

Before I set next week's subject - will ponder on this this morning and announce it asap - a word of warning for amoringello (hope you're reading this). For some reason your photos (in this and previous weeks) don't appear on the page after I've downloaded it. Not sure why this should be so, as this doesn't happen to any others (unless the connection rate slows, which often occurs here, and then most of the page can't be downloaded ). If you do submit a photo next week - would appreciate it if you did so early so we can work out some other way for me to view it.

Congratulations to Dr. Mhuni, a most unusual photograph that I must show to my brother in law who lives in Ethiopia.

Well done to Clarky for the much coveted second place and many thanks to George for his informed judging under difficult circumstances.

Very well done to Dr. Mhuni, Clarky and Galoot and a big thank you to George for judging a tricky competition, although he did bring it on himself by setting the subject matter

If someone does not like the idea of judging too many entries, they could always set the subject of "21st Century Sculptures on Easter Island" - that should keep the entries down

Thanks for the 3rd place, George, I think I was lucky to get it, there were some superb entries this week.

Did like Dirk's Dog.

Thank you for your comments. This picture was taken Saturday when I was camping. My Dad was hitting one piece of wood against another piece of wood to make sparks.
Bye
