The back-slashes in the title for the new competition are messing with the automatic generation of the URL, and it then created a dead link.

Just had a look at the entries - lots of stormy skies, some brilliant, some not so brilliant. I was hoping to see lots of original ideas, as I couldn't think of anything. I just love the little child with the face that is about to crack, what a moment to capture. Looking forward to the judging of this one - difficult job. I'm hoping to pick up some handy tips from the comments. So, good luck David (I think it's David), lots of helpful hints, pleeeeeeeeeeeease.

Can we try to avoid commenting under the current entries in the Weekly Competition Gallery, until the judge has judged :
p.s. very commendable that people take the time to comment but we do not want to possibly influence the judge

Now you say that! I didn't know it and tried sending hampers and bottles to the judges every week. I thought it was like any other public competition...

Prieni: The mail from Germany to the UK is obviously not getting through. Still waiting for the hampers and bottles.
Hyram: I'm not influenced if people comment on pictures I'm judging, I just select the images I like best. I know from long experience in camera club competitions that different judges and different photographers all have their own views and often they don't match each other.
david
PS On reflection, Hyram is quite right. Best to comment on the entries after the competition is judged. It doesn't worry me but some judges might be fazed by it.

David: Sorry that the mail takes a bit longer. Hope it comes through before midnight But it could well be that British customs are having a party on me...
But it's always a little slow with the huge ones...
Of course it's not a bribe but a small token of appreciation for your judging

I agree comments should be added after judging, but since Bernadette doesn't seem to visit the forum she isn't going to know about this is she?
No entry from me (again) this week, I'm only just thawing out from my central heating disaster, and have a back log of assignments from my course
You may not have many entries David but there are some real crackers in there!

I think that your problem has been misjudging the size of hamper required or number of bottles needed

One of the problems that we now have (with the competition residing in the Gallery area) is that the few 'rules' that we do have, remain here in the Forum under the old Competition section
Perhaps we can ask for the 'rules' to be displayed at the top of the Competition area in the Gallery :
