Weekly Competition #245 - Childhood Memories

Wednesday Evening and only two entries - where are all your childhood memories - hope you have not forgotten them.
I think it is a very interesting topic - when I thought about which photo to enter, I realized how much the fantasies of my childhood are still part of me (when I was 6 years old I loved colorefull lights in the cities and with my photos I still try so often to catch them).....

I have an entry that needs shooting, so I'll have it done before the deadline!
Best regards, John

cool - this is somehow how it should be - I have to admitt that in most cases I grab a picture I already have. Sometimes I did them especially for the competition and this is actually far more fun. I think, I have to force myself to do this more often if the topic allows this (winter themes in summer might be a bit tricky )

I wasn't sure I had an appropiate entry, but a quick look through some recent pics and it was immediately obvious which picture to enter. I also had a picture of some graffiti I was going to title "My first swear-word" but resisted the tempatation....

Well in the end I shot my new picture, but felt a little uncomfortable with it, so I decided to do something else instead. Sometimes these things don't quite work out as intended.

It's a more difficult subject that we might at first think.
Best regards, John

I have just uploaded my entry and it has certainly stirred some memories for me. I agree that it is a difficult subject and one that requires some thought and planning. I think more entries will arrive this weekend.

Was a slightly strange competition - feels like it did not take place - low number of entries (OK - difficult topic), no review, nearly no feedback. Might be an idea to have a pop-up, when starting a new competition, that contains the basic rules (like - you are supposed to provide a complete review of all entries by Monday)..... those who have done more than one competition and therefore know the rules, can set a flag to not see this popup again.
I remember my first judging of a competition - I was also not really aware, that I should have provided a complete review - I learned that by reading the comments of competition participants - a popup would have helped me, to understand the rules upfront.
