I was hoping for a quiet time, but the entries just keep coming in !!!! That's good though

Judging will be a little bit later than usual, as I have to go to the Orkney Isles on short notice this weekend.

I'm assured that the hotel has web access, but it probably won't be until Monday evening that the results will be posted.

I am downloading each of the entries and saving comments as they appear, so hopefully there won't be too much of a trauma on Monday, and I can get back to you all, as soon as possible.

Nope. Just one is allowed. So pick your best and start praying.

Naaaaah, nothing strange here. It only means you passed the age of 20 and most likely 30. Probably 40 and even......maybe 50.

Martin. (almost in the maybe section)
Well my first Pentax camera was a KX

I see you have already entered, it's considered 'bad form', to remove the entry and replace it with another, well, I think that is the case ?

Yes, otherwise someone could continually modify their entry in the light of what came after, which would be very unfair. I would disqualify a replaced image personally, but that's up to each judge.

So one roll of the die only!

No problem, I wasn't going to remove my original entry. Just was caught in two minds on which photo to enter. I wasn't too sure of the rules as I'm quite new here and this is the 1st competition I have entered.

Hello to everyone.
I'm a newbie in here I just found this thread after entering a "face" I hope I have done it right and not broken your guide lines and its not the one that both points jump out at you ..

I would welcome any comments and constructive critique from everyone if you can spare the time..
Regards
Peter
Pentax K7 and K5 and several black tubey things with magnifying glass in that twist around and move in and out - to be honest I am not sure exactly what I have. Will list the proper names one day..

I am afraid I am not going to enter the competition this week. I think I have quite a few photos that would make good entries. However I always have second thoughts showing people on the internet.
In France, there is some kind of image rights law which limits image use.
I am sorry! However I may be wrong, that's why I would like to know your opinion about that matter.

Hey Ralf,
That's funny. You used exactly the technique I was thinking of, when I was brooding on my entrie. I decided to go an other direction.

Galoot will have a h*ll of a job on his hands, judging this round.

Martin.
Best regards,

Martin.

That's funny indeed. I had some different ideas along the same line and the one I ended up with is perhaps not the best technically (for a symmetry one I wouldn't have needed to light the face from the sides) but I left it too late for a re-shoot (had to get the door out of the way first ). It was good fun, though.

Looks like winning this competition could result in a lot of work...
