Sorry Simon but I don't know one end of a football from the other!

Well, somebody had to start the sporting ball rolling, so I've given it a kick and we'll see how far it goes.
Don't panic (yet) about the monthly. This is the weekend when people go out with cameras and photograph the glories of April. Unless the April weather is cruel...
Easy. A football has no ends, unless you're American, Australian or play one of those violent versions of the game that share a name with a famous English public school. A football pitch, however, has two ends. And football itself is a game of two halves (plus extra time, stoppage time, penalty shootouts, golden goals and other things that muck up the TV schedule). Football also has an offside rule, which is thoroughly confusing but completely different to the equally confusing LBW rule in cricket.

Please don't make it easy for me......one entry in the monthly and none in the weekly.
All the best!
