Weekly #563 Ribbons Competition

Congratulations to poliver for his well managed competition which I thought should have attracted much more entries. I think this was a first time for poliver to run one of these competitions and I thought it was very nicely done.

I just wanted to put up a picture showing how my winning image was shot on our dining room table:




It was a 7 image focus stack all using:
Pentax K-1 with the Samsung equivalent of the D-FA100 Macro
0.3sec, F11, ISO200 & -2.0 exposure compensation.

I used Live View with Focus Peaking to choose overlapping focus points but it still took two attempts. The first attempt, using 5 images at F8, did not quite overlap properly and also showed how dirty my ribbon cable was. So I cleaned it, moved up to F11 and shot 7 rather than five images.

Shot raw then processed in LR6. The focus stack was assembled using Helicon Focus 6 and the result was cropped and resized in PSE14.
