Hi All

In my new role as webmaster for my camera club, some critique/suggestions on new layout would be welcome. Still got to pick a gallery addon so that bit and another couple of pages have still to be done.

Obviously there is more work to be done yet, but so far so good. The design is simple and clear and the speed of access is fine.

A forum would be a really important addition that encourages communication between members even when meetings are not on.

Compare to our website which has been running for some time and is very active:

Hi Brian,

nice clean site, and well thought out. Design wise, nothing to add, but if you want any help on the techy side down the line, just ask and I'll do what I can.

Cheers

Brian,
The front image is very soft, IMHO Makes it look very out of focus even.

When you've done the gallery, it may be a good idea to pull in a random photo or two onto the front page (easy if you're using PHP).

Hi Brian,

I'd agree with Matt regarding the sharpness of that first image, although I realise it's to keep the file size down - 70Kb is good! Sloping landscape I find a little off-putting though.

One other thing is that the Club Rooms page gives me the impression that it's a not very well attended club, any more pics with a larger gathering?

Simple, elegant, quick, no Flash, and no music. All that a web site should be.

I like the look of it

Is it a PentaxUser who decides membership fees? Or is it just coincidence that a junior pays £16-45 a year :
