Looks like you spat on the poor little fellow
He only attacked you because he could smell your fear
Good shots though

You may well be right about the fear though ...

That's one mean looking wasp! Not sure I'd have wanted to get that close, even after he'd been "pacified" with coffee!
Great shot though.

Pity it's next victim - an angry wasp with a caffeine high

The more you swat at them, the angrier they get. ignore them and they go away.

When I was about 25 (some years ago) I had university lecturing post in Ghana West Africa and the rooms had slatted windows to allow the little draught there was to flow across the lecture room. So there was pink little me at the front and I saw this ENORMOUS hornet fly in through the window and come towards me. So, I thought hah the white man will show the class of African students he’s just as brave as they are and I didn’t flinch although it buzzed past me and out of the door. I then turned to face the class doubtless to impart some pearl of wisdom who were all to a man and women cowering away in fear! It was a truly HUGE hornet and the sting I gather was terrible.
Happy days

This was taken some time ago, but i had one get into the house and not wanting to kill it or chase it around with a cricket bat i decided to catch it using one of my wifes tupperware containers Well i got it into the container but just as i was snapping the lid closed it made a last ditched effort to escape and the rest is history as they say

I'm glad you weren't stung. I have to admit I don't care what it is the darn thing can sting many times. I on the other hand am allergic to any type of bee or wasp sting. i never swat at the creatures i just pray they know I'm no threat.
great pictures by the way. OH and please don't send him my way. I carry the fastest flyswatter on the east coast and I'm not afraid to use it.

well Clarky if you would have offered him a sip you might not have suffered the three stings. As for me He would have been drinking the beer after the three stings because dead men can't drink. Dang bugs.

I had a mosquito make its way up my shirt sleeve once when we were on a train going down a mountain in Spain.
Trouble with those little ****** is you dont know you have been bitten for a while and by then its too late.
My arm swelled up to the size of a large balloon.

Wouldn't want to be stung by one of these, he flew off a few seconds later .. hopefully far away.
