The pin only appears on Ricoh's equivalent to Pentax PKA type lens the "P" type lenses i.e. aperture setting from the camera.

Easy job to remove the pin, just don't stick it on the camera until you have modified it, they are a nightmare to get off trust me

Some Ricoh lenses have a rounded pin - these ones have always been fine on my K20D and K5. I've had 4 of these.
I believe it is the Ricoh lenses with a flat-ended pin that you have to watch out for. I've never actually seen one of this type.

My S1 Vivitar 28-70mm (sold as Pentax-fit on Ebay!) didn't jam on the camera, and the pin did seem to be rounded.
But I soon removed it. It's very easy to do.

I have just received a Sigma Mini Wide II with a P/KR mount, i.e. with the dreaded Ricoh Pin !Some Ricoh lenses have a rounded pin - these ones have always been fine on my K20D and K5. I've had 4 of these.
I believe it is the Ricoh lenses with a flat-ended pin that you have to watch out for. I've never actually seen one of this type.
However, I noted 3 things:-
1) that it is a small Rounded topped pin
2) that the pin only protrudes a VERY small distance above the mount, and
3) it only requires EXTREMELY light force to push it back.
The combination of these gave me confidence to fit it onto my K-r and when I then tried to remove it there was absolutely NO restistance and you wouldn't have known the pin was there !
I then tried fitting and removing the lens again with the same result - OK !
Hopefully this situation will remain.

Also I believe it is not issue with XR Rikenons. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The Ricoh Pin Fix
I have used loads of lenses with the Ricoh pin on Pentax AF cameras (SFXn & Z-1) without any problems. Most independent manual focus 'KA' lenses also had similar pins (some more rounded than others). I never had a problem getting them off again. When I bought my K-5 I did follow the link above to remove all the Ricoh pins from my lenses (just in case).

Since the linking of Pentax name with Ricoh I have noticed a lot more Ricoh Ricohmar lenses for sale on eBay, Am I right in thinking that these lenses will fit onto Pentax DSLRs BUT NOT COME OFF AGAIN as a pin pops into the auto focus hole on the camera mount.
I have read of one guy having to hacksaw a Ricoh lens off of his Pentax DSLR.
