I bought my Tamron as part of a package deal and love the lens its a great lens for the money.

Dont know but these are were taken at the 200-300 range as they were flying past quite quickly off berryhead devon

Got one on order from Clifton £96 ind P&P + a free filter. They have a special on pentax fit. Thanks for the advice.

Good spot, Les & thanks for tip-off. Have just ordered one too. Seems a lot of lens for the money at £120, let alone under £90 with a free filter!

recieved my tammy yesterday so excited didnt get to chance to have a proper play though so looking forward to it in next few days thanks chris excellent purchase

Recieved mine from Cliftons today. Has a lens hood as well. More lens than I expected. Quick try tonight with some nice results. Looking forward to the week end.

Got mine today. Initial thoughts are it has a quality feel to it and feels solid, but isn't overly heavy. Hunts a little in lower light, but that's probably me Macro mode looks very useful. Have been staking out birds on feeders, and photos appear pretty sharp, esp when considering they are taken through the window (probably a cardinal sin!). Can't wait to get outside and find some creepy crawlies!!

and whilst the DA 55-300 is a good lens, i just get frustrated with it's shockingly slow AF.
