AFAIK, this lens is full frame and thus you'll only get 83° coverage on APS-C instead of 180° for full frame sensors. You'll lose a lot of the fisheye effect with an APS-C body, thus, IMHO, it's wasted.

You'll be far better off getting the Samyang 8mm F/3.8 MC fisheye which is designed for APS-C. It's manual, but you essentially set the aperture and focal length and that's it! I owned one with a different mount. Here's one I took with it:

I am aware you lose a lot of the fish eye effect, I actually don't want it to be too extreme, and I could just put it on my film body if I want it to be more extreme.

Had you considered the Peleng 8mm F/3.5 MC fisheye over the Zenit? It's M42 mount (MF).

That also has quite an extreme fish eye affect, I don't want to be extreme because I am going to be defishing it most of the time. I may just get the Samyang 14mm instead..
