Wanted: Pentax DA 16-45mm

Posted 21/11/2009 - 21:21 Link
If anyone has the Pentax DA 16-45mm, I am interested in buying. Thought long and hard on it and changing mind from aquiring hard to find Sigma 10-20mm at good price. So 16-45mm will do alright.

Thanks

I haven't got the 16-45, but by all accounts it's an excellent lens; I do own the 10-20 and love it. However both are totally different beasts, and it depends upon what your requirements really are.

Best of luck.

The 16-45 and the 10-20 are not really comparable at all. If you think you want a 10-20 then the 16-45 will not satisfy the short end the difference between 16 and 10 is simply huge.

I agree that finding a cheap 10-20 is hard work but save more or wait longer and get the extreme wide angle you thought you wanted, it opens up so many more creative opportunities.

Personally I wouldn't get the 16-45 anyway I'd get a Tamron 17-50 - in fact I did and it is an excellent lens with a constant and usable f2.8

Thanks for that. my list was
1) Sigma 10-20mm
2) DA 16-45mm
3) lens for portraites (Tamron 28-75mm or Sigma 24-70mm, I prefer the zoom lens)

Since 1 and 3 are hard to find option 2 would be fine.
Wanted option 2 and 3 to replace my kit lens which i wasnt happy with that much.

Thanks for the link too, am already there with same name and got the DA 40mm limited from there this week, waiting for delivery

Hi

I've recently upgraded a couple of lenses and have both a Pentax 16-45 and Sigma 24-70 f2.8 surplus to requirements if you'd be interested?

They're both in very good condition and come with the lens hoods. The Sigma comes with the carry case whilst the Pentax has the original box and paperwork.

Please PM me if you'd like more details.

Hi

Sorry - I actually have the 28-70 Sigma, not the 24.

Awww! the 24-70 would have been nice
PM sending on the 16-45mm

mikew mentioned above that he'd get the Tamron 17-50mm, I havent looked too much in detail into that lens, is it comparable with 16-45mm in terms of colour, contrast?

Thank you for all who offered. Some of you have suggested the Tamron 17-50mm and think it would be logical to purchase that at f2.8 for some indoor use.
