I have seen this link but I know that they ship from USA (not from China) as some bidder wrote in feedback and there are many fees to pay...

Mine came from China and i had to pay U.K. VAT-£6 and £13 to the company that handled the VAT payment. do not know how it worked in Italy

That was actually quite reasonable, I thought it was more than that to import from outside the EU. Mine was a little cheaper but that seems to be the sort of price they are fetching now.

To have only paid £6 the converter must have been valued at £40 unless it was classed as SH in which case I think a dealer pays VAT only on the profit which must still be around £40.

I was keeping an eye out for one of these Pentax 1.7x TC's a while back but decided to give the Kenko 1.5x TC a try in the meantime. After trying it out over a weekend on my DA*300 I was impressed enough to put on hold a purchase of the Pentax one. Here's a shot taken with the DA*300 and Kenko TC, handheld and, as I discovered afterwards, I also had the SR turned off

Certainly good enough for my purposes as a hobbyist.



Edit to add, this is the non-SDM version of the Kenko TC so shot was MF.

How it's done I don't know but it is new, unused manual and every thing

Maybe he undervalued it on the customs form and marked it as a gift.
The Chinese dealers are quite accomodating where that sort of thing is concerned

They are. But remember that you are legally classed a the importer of the goods, therefore it is up to you to make sure the correct duty is paid! You might get away with it but are potentially committing tax fraud.

So posting the evidence on the web for all to see is not a good idea...?

What evidence, there is only a forum name and guesswork.
