Voting competition #1 - Cycles

Let's see how this all pans out before drawing any conclusions. If people like it, maybe the website bods can figure a way of making the competition more user friendly.

For any latecomers and people who don't want change, there was already another thread here https://www.pentaxuser.com/forum/topic/extra-competitions-21262 .

The easy way is we start a competition in the Gallery. At the end of the competition we put up a thread here with a poll to vote. We then tick the winner in the Galley and that winner sets the next one up ready for voting the next time around.

Just the same as the weekly competition but without whoever sets the competition choosing the winner.

Of course the anonymous thing can't be done this way, but there's no evidence that it matters. Nobody would get people voting for them because of who they are, why would they?

John - that sounds eminently sensible.

There is no difference to that to doing it here as we didi with the trial run.
People wanted it anonymous after that run so this was set up.
I don't post in the gallery and will not enter a gallery competition so I am excluded again.
If newbies want to enter they can, but then they come to the forum to enter, not just the gallery. Without the forum the gallery is just another place to park photos. Without new members the forum dies, like the magazine did, and eventually so will the gallery since the forum provides the advertising to pay for it all.


Do what you want. I am not entering any more competitions, and I am not going to be posting on the forum very much any more either, if at all. I am fed up with all this.

Gwyn - For Lords sake don't quit - otherwise there will be one less sane person on the Forum, and I couldn't stand that

Is there a problem posting in the gallery? I'm also concerned that you say excluded again so if there's a problem with anyone being excluded from anything do please PM me with details and I'll certainly look into it.

Still only 5 entries, come this theme isn't that hard right?

Tomorrow it's the 15th but I need to get up early the next day so don't expect that I would show the entries or start the voting thread at midnight, I just can't sorry
Will do it in the morning before I leave so that no one will be surprised the closing time has moved forward.

If you enter please make sure the longest side of your photo isn't more then 800 pixels long. I've had time to resize the ones that have entered but I can't do it for last minute entries.
