Just wondered if anyone around here has one of these things.

I am heading to Canada for 2 weeks in April and am considering my options storage wise. I have an MP3 player which can download SD cards but it takes an age and will only do ~2GB before it needs to be recharged. The time doesn't really bother me, but the battery life isn't up to scratch.

The Vosonic seems pretty reasonably priced and seems to have fair battery life at 9GB or so with a replaceable battery. I just wondered if anyone had used one in anger or had a better suggestion at a similar price.

I have a 2260 (40Gb) storage and got it cheap via the Bargain Basement bit of Warehouse Express. ON/OFF switch can be temperamental but otherwise fine. Can download 8-10Gb on a charge if I remeber correctly!

(PS not sure if these can cope with the Hgh Capacity (4Gb) cards or not)

I have the 2160. It is cheap and does what it says on the packet. Never had a problem with it. It is small and neat, and great for travelling.
Some people prefer an image tank with a screen so they can actually see their photos have been successfully downloaded before wiping the card, but we've never had a problem with it.

thanks guys,

yes a screen would be cool, but I doubt there is an image tank available atm which can read K10D PEF files and even if I shot JPG or DNG the colour screen models tend to be a bit rich for my blood.

sounds like this beast is just what I'm looking for.
