The Vivitar lens codes are only valid up to a certain point (mid 1980's I think), after that there was no consistency in the numbering and no way of knowing who made which lens unfortunately.
The only thing you can say with any degree of certainty is that the lens wasn't manufactured by Vivitar themselves, as they've never had any manufacturing facility that I'm aware of.
