Hello
That's difficult - the uncropped version does have the lovely red at the bottom whilst he crop shows off the textures in the bark a little more - time to flip a coin for me
My lady has a far better eye for a photo than I do - if she ever gets the photo bug I will be put to shame in minutes

The only way I can describe it is the uncropped version has more of a flow

While the uncropped version has its attractions, they have to be weighted up against the wall behind the vines. I'd probably go with the crop Kris, as the mortar courses compete for attention a little.

It's actually a bit difficult for me because I can't see either image in their entirety on my screen, both are too tall for my screen even with all the toolbars removed but I go with your lady's choice and prefer the uncropped version. She obviously has taste .

Lovely rich colours, Kris. I fear she may be right in this instance, I like the sinuous winding of the stems.

By the way, this is a Kodachome 64 slide taken using an ME Super and a SMC-M 50mm f/2 lens.

They both have their merits. My preference is the uncropped as it "flows" more and the red leaves at the bottom gets my eye wandering about the image more.
