I just went to check to see if MS had updated their camera compatibility range for the Windows Explorer RAW viewer so that us Pentax types could use it. Surprised to find they hadn't..
I did find this however..

and the community version, which is free, does indeed do what the MS viewer can't. Now when I open explorer my RAW images are thumbnailed as well. According to the list, the D, DL and DS are covered, along with a couple of the optios. It also opens thumbnail images for the DNG format, which I know some of you use. It does however only provide the thumbnail. In order to open it up you still need to use a RAW imaging program.. but then you'll have one of those anyway, and you can double click the TN to open the program straight from the RAW file.
Simply install and restart at the prompt. It works as an extension of Windows, so there's no file allocation etc. necessary..
Just thought I'd mention it.
