Viewfinder puzzled newbie

That doesn't sound normal... do you maybe have a filter on the lens or something... how is the viewfinder without a lens on the camera?
When you take the lens off take a look at the mirror and the plastic screen above it but be carefull not to thouch it.

It sounds like you have some dust somewhere, the sensor of my K5 was very dirty when I received it but has cleaned up OK.

It's not dust on he sensor, it's hard to describe what i mean. Think I need to find a shop close by that sells K-5's and have a look through their viewfinder to see if it's the same.

No I didn't mean dust on your sensor I meant on your viewfinder, screen or mirror Richard.

Right don't laugh too much when you read this. Looking through the viewfinder of my new K-5 it is not as clear as I thought it would be. I don't mean "in focus" wise because it is in focus I just mean it got a browny look to it with speckles on and not clear. Have I left a protective layer on somewhere??
