Thanks to everyone who took a look at these, and for the many considered comments - it is genuinely appreciated and so constructive to hear the views of peers, with the tips and criticisms in particular. To be honest I doubt that I'll take a DSLR with me again to Venice, it's such a bustling, busy place that a light, simple compact is the answer for me.

I'll put up part two shortly - I hope they are as well received as these!

Great set of images...work really well in mono.

I love No.1 and No.7...those neat, named doorbells are brilliant. No.4 is a lovely composition also.

Never been and not sure I ever will but great to get an authentic feel of the place via your shots.

I think a 35mm SLR loaded with some HP5 for a nice grainy look would be a great idea Dan, I think you're just the man to do it
