Yes, there is free postage for forum members. Mention Pentax User Forum and your forum ID name in the comments box if ordering online, and the deduction will be made after the order.

Thank you very much. Other last second question sorry, I realized just now. and found only old post about that

They have only good SD card Ultra, extreme etc., much more expensive the normal one s I can find on ebay.
Is there any real advantage in using the sandisk?

Thanks

There is some benefit to the faster cards in some circumstances. (Too complicated to go into detail about that right now).

Sandisk Ultra isn't anything special. Extreme III is worth getting - but not from SRS. www.Play.com are cheaper for them. Other places are cheaper still for bog standard cards, such as 7DayShop or even Tescos.

If you telephone Chris @ SRS, saying you want to buy a camera + lens, I am sure that he will be very competitive on the SD card.

I use Sandisk Extreme III.

I would avoid buying the cards on ebay. Cheaper for sure.....but the genuine article ?

I would avoid buying Sandisk cards on eBay as apparently there are a lot of fake ones around as the brand is so popular and expensive.

Try Amazon for the newer 4GB Extreme III 30 MB/s edition. Excellent price as well £14.99 + free UK delivery.. link

I bought mine there and had no problems with delivery, despite a couple of negative customer posts, or the card, it is a genuine one BTW.
Best regards

Richard - I know it says its 30Mb/s in the blurb, but if you look at Picstops site, the 30MB/s version seems to have exactly that printed on the card;

How can you be sure it's a genuine Sandisk card?

With such a product that is known to be often faked, I would be just as wary as ordering from an Amazon merchant as I would be from an eBay seller. For Sandisk I stick to reputable dealers such as play.com.

By the way, the 30MB/s version has been found to have no advantage in practice over the 20MB/s one according to a Pentax user's post I read recently.

Unless your writing thousands of 512mb files to the card you won't notice much difference between one speed card and another (unless they are the really slow ones). With JPG and PEF being read from card to computer all cards run at about the same speed of 10-13MB/SEC on the size of files involved.

Lexar 133x or Toshiba's (hard to find now that 7Day have sold out of the 4GB for £6 ones) are safer than Sandisk because of all the fakes and incompatibility problems.

I bought some of those Extreme III 30Mb/s from Amazon (reseller IndigoStarfish) that Richard has linked to and I'm happy with them, the image on the Amazon site is incorrect, they do look exactly like the ones listed on picstop site - I'm sure when I bought them from Amazon they had the correct image?

I'm not sure how exactly you would tell if they are fake or not, but I believe they are the real thing as their performance and general appearance are up to the standard of my previous Sandisk Extreme cards (bought from play.com).
