Urban myth.
Otherwise they'll have to prize that 2x teleconverter from my cold dead hands.
Or at least ban them from ebay.
Also spotting scopes and telescopes. And big bits of glass you could grind yourself. After all anything Hans Lipperhey could do we should be able to at least match.

Lurking is shirking.!

You need to sign papers to get a Fuji IR camera. You can still get one, but the fact you have it is registered at least with Fuji and the dealer you arrange it through.
Best regards, John

Well why would you buy a DSLR telephoto when an image stabilised P&S with an 800mm+ lens is available for a fraction of the cost of an 800mm lens for a DSLR.
'Security' concerns about photographers are silly as all the photos you could ever want are on google. Failing that high quality P&S cameras are so small that you'd never even know a photo had been taken by someone using one.

Thanks guys.
I had told him pretty much the same but couldn't convince him, so your thoughts are helping to shut him up.
In the last few minutes I've also found that Amazon are selling a 500-1000mm mirror and a 650-2600mm long lens in Pentax fit (might not be a lot of good but proof positive of availability)
Regards
Bernard

From my point of view - chance would be a fine thing, but I suspect other PU members are quite flush
I find the above a little bewildering, particulary as I could, without restriction, buy an astronomical telescope & T mount and simply rotate the images so my inclination is that its a myth.
