Uploads to Photobucket

I resize every image before uploading to Photobucket. This keeps all the control of how the image looks with me and does not rely on PB doing any resizing.
The other advantage of this is that upload times are very short as the file size is only around 200K per image, give or take.

I follow John's practice, resize in Photoshop to 800 pixels on the longest side before uploading. Then I know that no automatic resizing will take place. Are you supposed to do this with every image you upload, or only if you get a problem?
In my experience, automatic resizing can play havoc with the sharpness.

"One thing is though, it doesn't appear sharp on the screen. Now, I see you use Photobucket. Did it look sharp on your screen before you uploaded it If it did then if you have software to resize images, resize it 800 pixels on its longest side before uploading to retain the sharpness."
Are you supposed to do this with every image you upload, or only if you get a problem?
