I had problems when I first tried uploading to the forum. You need to go to the main flickr page for the photo in question. Under the picture will be two URLs/Links. Copy the second one of those shown, then, when you come to post your topic in the forum, click the image button underneath the text box. This will bring up some text something like as follows... [img][img]. Simply paste the image URL you copied between the two square bracketed bits of text and you image should appear! you can click 'preview comment' to see if it has worked.

Hope that helps

I should clarify that the image will appear when you click 'preview comment'..., and of course when you finally add the comment

Well done Mat, it was this last comment that made the difference.

Much appreciated!

I'm struggling with this as well - no matter what I do the image won't appear, any help would be appreciated.

Hello Haydn,

all I can say is that Mat's instructions were exactly right and they have worked. Suggest you follow them slowly and let us know how you got on.

Good Luck

There are instructions at the top of the Your Photos section.

Photobucket seems to be the most painless option.

www.photobucket.com

Upload your image to there, making sure it is no longer than 800 pixels on the longest side and that it's a reasonable file size (200K - 400K is ideal)

Copy the link for forums (the option at the bottom of the list that appears if you run your cursor over the image in your album) and paste the link into your message on this forum.
Best regards, John

Haydnw - the problem with what you have posted is that the second (img) after the address should be (/img).

It should be square brackets not round ones, but if I use square ones it will stuff this post.

So what you should have is
(img)http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3531/3932825390_7c7a100510_b.jpg(/img)

but with square brackets, which will give you this -

Another tip - the forum is set up for images up to 800pixels wide. If you post larger pictures, it will re-size them. Unfortunately it will not do as good a job as your own software. You usually get a better result if you resize the picture before you upload it.
