Upgrade the K-r

I love my K-r, but I would like to upgrade my K-r, as I like to photograph concerts (need High ISO) and football games (fast AF).

I have four choices, but I don't know which choice is better

1) K5 (cons: is a little bit old and maybe the AF is not so fast)
2) KII
3) KIIs
4) K3 (cons: is late november and expensive)

Maybe the right choice is the nr. 3. What do you think?

Might be worth waiting a few weeks to see if the K5 II variants drop in price as a result of the K3 release?

Surprised you consider the K-5 II and not the K-30 in that list

Would of though it would be between K-30, K-5 mk1, K-5iis and K-3

I'm in exactly the same boat Nenix.

Short list seems to be the IIs and 3 for me.

From what I've seen of comparison shots between II and IIs I personally prefer the slightly more detailed pics from the lack of AA Filter.

It would seem you get the best of both worlds with the K-3 but I don't usually go for the latest stuff, preferring to get a price break on something tried and tested.

I too prefer to wait till the price settles, have to really as it means new cameras for me and Sue every time.

So the K-5 IIs would be my choice - the price is already settled quite nicely I think?

I can wholeheartedly recommend the IIs, the high iso performance still makes me smile and the detail is so sharp you can shave with it!!

I would wait and see as John says. I can recommend a k-5 mkii for concert work but not for sport, the k-3 could be the body for both

I can recommend the IIs - there should be a few up for sale with the K-3 on the way (mine included - shameless plug :lol.
