Upgrade camera grip for K20D & K10D

This year I went to Photokina and the K20D models Pentax used there had a redesigned camera grip.
It looks like... like they used two halves of those soft banana candies and putt them where your middle finger and your ring finger is, the rest of the grip stays the same. it really does give you a more secure grip and I had the feeling I could keep the camera better still.
Asked the chap who was helping me about it and he said they could do it now for €50,- but of course I hadn’t had the camera with me . He sends me to another desk where they could tell me more about it.
They could do it for the K10D and the K20D (sorry didn’t asked for the rest) it cost liked I said €50,- and you can simply have it sent to Pentax for it.
So I asked my photo shop here about it and they called Pentax for it. I was already looking forward to it but they said it could take 5 weeks before I got my camera back... I can't miss it that long.
I’ve looked around everywhere on the web if I could find a photo or anything but couldn’t find a thing...

So is anyone interested to have theirs sent to Pentax and do some of you have experience on how long it might take. 5 weeks seems awfully long for something they could do their on the spot .

Do you mean the battery grip or on the actual camera?

Welcome to the forum btw. Maybe you'd like to introduce yourself in the Just joined section?
It seems that new members are a shy lot.

Can't answer your question, but Welcome to the forum.
Give him some time Gwyn, you know a Dutchman can't stay shy forever.
Good to have an other Dutchy around here.

Martin.
Best regards,

Martin.

The grip on the camera. They remove the leather and place something under it I think. Atleast it somthing permanent you can't take it off.

Okay thank you, didn't knew the name of
I've already tried it and it really feels better but was surprised that I couldnt found a single post here or on the other pentaxforum.
This month might be the only month soon I can miss my camera. I need it back before 3 december because we are going on vacation so 5 weeks is too long.

Pentax France had to do a little search as they were not aware of such an option, and returned to me some days latter with a 75€ quote...

Inverted $/€ parity in France starts to get on my nerves... And it's now even applied on €/€ conversions...

Maybe you can send it to Pentax Benelux (Belgium) or Germany, they did it for €50 but you need to pay the postage fee for yourself of course.
