Why shouldn't it work? Once you get the hang of it, it's quite straight forward.
Re the yellow colour, maybe the colour balance was thrown off by the strong backlight.

What had happened, the fog and moisture filtered all but yellow colouring, I just didn't expect it to be this yellow. I also like how it turned out. I checked the WB after the shot.
