undocumented k10 feature....

it appears the k10 has some (albeit very limmited) web access.
on my mac, setting Image Capture to share my devices, will allow my bonjour network to recognize the K10 (teathered usb).
This means I can download from the card from any computer on my network or from the web.
While I haven't suceeded in firing the shutter remotely this way, I can download the images off the card and erase images from the card.

I'm not sure if there's any practical applications for this on my mac, as I can use automator, and other mac-centric tricks to remote access the camera, but maybe windoze users could use it somehow....one possibility being leaving your teathered k10 set to intervlalometer and being able to download images from the card over the net to say use as a security cam or watch a bird feeder or something...

Interesting. I hope it is not Vista only like the RAW codec, it would be handy to view my images in Explorer when I'm moving files about.

I can't see many people wanting to leave an expensive camera and computer in a remote tethered mode.

Leaving the K10D connected via its USB connection still seems to drain the battery in only a few hours.

Dont really want to burst your bubble Don but that is not very surprising, any hard drive, in this case your SD card thats connected to a computer can be shared on a network, what is surprising is the ease at which you've found yours, getting XP on my PC and Vista on my laptop to communicate and share drives gives me the biggest headache ever, fontunately my sons a network engineer so I just wait till he calls round

the camera is getting it's own ip address and is networked...sorta like a nas drive....it comes up in safari with its own web page.
normal drives can be shared on the network but not like this.

Other than being able to review, download or delete the files on the card, through a webbrowser (localnet or internet), I'm not sure of any practical applications....
