Hi,

Just a pic I took last week (one of many, but not had time to go through them!)

I was gutted to find later in the day after I'd taken this and a series of other shots that I'd left the ISO on 6400 from the previous nights star trail exposure experiments!

I've had to process it in Noise Ninja, but I thought it too pretty not to share!




Shame the sky isn't more interesting on this one, but I like the old stone barn roof.




Both taken with a K20d and 16-45.

If you shot these RAW you could try a bit of HDR processing on #2. You might be surprised at the detail that can be revealed.

I hope you don't mind, but I had a play with the top one because I liked it alot, but felt the cyan cast in the sky ruined it a little. Plus, it seemed kinda hazey on the right hand side




ps. The shot also looks EXCELLENT in mono, red or blue channel.

Would you talk me through what you did to it? I've got a few shots I want to remove 'haze' from!

I can't remeber too well
But roughly,

I used the hue/saturation adjustment in photoshop (set to cyan) to change the hue and saturation of the sky to a more pleasing blue, and masked off anything it changed
I applied a orangey yellow photo filter to warm it up a bit
I increased the saturation of the greens
I used brightness contast, to make it stand out more, but masked off the sky and water
I used the dodge and burn tool (mainly burn) to fix other things, like the brightness of the far mountain
I used shadow highlights to bring out detail in the foreground, and masked the other areas off

Lovely pictures.....great location when the weather is fine.
