Hi Stan,
Nice composition of this heavily photographed landmark. Wonderful area isn't it?
Detail looks fine on my desktop IPS monitor as much as you can tell at this size. The hint of sun rays through clouds would have been nice a bit stronger. I assume you had it well stopped down for the depth of field on display.

it says something about me that I was expecting two Land Rovers lol
I like this, and I like the castle looking dark and forbidding. B&W works really well here too.

I bet a photographer put them there to rest his camera on!
I like the composition even though the vertical of the concrete
is a bit too central for me.
It looks better against the dark background when you click on it.

Hi Mike, Phil and Bill. Thanks for the feedback. I think the castle lacks detail too and will see what I can do (selected curve ? ) When the raw image is viewed at 100% the detail is there, can see through the arch way, that white dot in the middle of the castle Will try and get more contrast in the sky and enhance the sunrays. Good thing about digital it's non destructive
Failing all else, I only live an hour away from Bamburgh so perhaps can pick a better day to go and shoot it again. Some wit (well a half anyway) has painted the two furthest away blocks as a pair of dice so an exercise in cloning needed too

Only use off white/cream mounts now It does look better in a black frame though
