Don't despair - winter is coming.

Do you mean stitching btw? I'm asking because I've heard a lot of positive things about a free program that seems to deal very well with e.g. portrait pictures, much better than Hugin and others. If you're interested, let me know and I'll look up the link.

Looking at the picture now, I can see three problems with it as it stands now.

1/. There is a pink tint (on my monitor anyway) to the b/w areas.

2/. Where I tried to straighten the picture, the roofline, sides of the wall and window sills which were the references I used aren't too far off, but the gutter is not right. The process is similar to one I used to use at work years ago while setting up CRT monitors.

3/. The partition between the bright and shadowed areas on the door is awful.

A real thankyou to all who have contributed to this. I have learnt a lot about how to use PSE and more importantly, what makes a better picture.
