A friend of mine was asking if this lens woudl be any good on his Sony dslr - I had to admit that I didn't have a clue but now I will direct him to look at these

Nice shots

I think the lens is value for the money to be fair, however if your freind can sorce a used 18/250 Tamron then I feel he would have a better range if he can get one at a good price.

To be honest Ian it is the 18 - 250 he is looking for but can't find one second hand as the new ones seem to be the 18 - 270 but he only wants it for a holiday so second hand would suit him more.

I have suggested he checks out Sony forums or evilbay

A nice set of images, number 3 is my favourite, you seemed to have got everything right in that shot with the exposure and composition.
