I'm on the list of L&CPU judges and I'm not negative about anything as a genre. The only thing of interest is how good is it as an image. In the case of less experienced photographers, can anything be said that will help them develop their skills? And so on.

I don't see many nudes, but those I do see tend to be pretty good. Perhaps that's because it needs some confidence and ability to shoot the images in the first place and it's not usually what beginners start with in competitions.

I don't know why, but the best nudes I've seen from local clubs have been shot by female photographers.
Best regards, John

John, that's why I said a small majority of judges, and I would agree with you about female photographers, hence why when I started out it was with two female photographers, and I have worked with many female photographers successfully since.

Thanks, and funnily enough some people do say that and ask what camera I have, on telling them I have a Pentax K-5 a common response is "Is That a Canon or a Nikon?"

Really well done Tim, and much deserved. I just wish I had your successful hit rate in the international salons.
David.
