Tripods

Hi,

I have a Pentax Z1...anyone know what tripod i should use and if there is anywhere online i can get one.

Try E-bay there are lots on there, I bought a cheap one for out and about for £25, the fitting is/should be universal

Good point !....i use ebay loads...didnt think of that....duh !

If you want a serious tripod (like a Manfrotto), then www.bobrigby.com is a very well priced supplier

anyone got any views on the Z1....only just started using it and i'm dead chuffed so far....the lenses i have are fantastic too.

The Z1 is a somewhat under-rated camera. It is extremely versatile, and has the best user interface ever put on any camera (in my opinion).

I know it's quit old, but you wouldn't know it when using it.......i'm having great fun with it....going to the coast at the weekend to get some shots......should be good.

Yes, I have the Z1. It's a very capable camera, really solid and a good feel. Loved using it... just the *ist-D has now overtaken it, and I've not used it at all. Soon to be sold

oh thats a shame, but the *ist-D is worth it though i would of thought....i've only read about it not used it.
I'm pleased that there are people about that still have Z1's though, didnt want to be the only one.

I've just noticed that you are in Sussex............where are your favourite picture spots?.......i live in crawley and was thinking about going to Wakehurst place at the weekend, but will probably go to the Coast as i love seascapes........but i'm mad on doing macros of flowers and i though wakehurst would be good....have you been ?

Wakehurst is fabulous but very, very large. Arrive early and stay late. Wakehurst is on my to-do-again list for sure

There is also Nymans Gardens, although there are not so many flowers out just now - another 2 or 3 weeks and it should be superb.
As a National Trust member I try to get to these places as often as I'm able.

Oh yes, and Nymans has a beautiful bluebell wood - Pookchurch Wood. It's quite a hike down a steep hill, but definitely worth it

I love bluebells...so will be looking to go there....i think there is also a bluebell wood Buxted way somewhere, i used to pass it a lot on the way to Hastings....will look out for that again.
Was going to try Wakehurst next weekend but then realised it will be Bank Holiday weekend and probably heaving with people if the weather is good....so will wait a until the following weekend.

I'll post some pictures when i get sorted

Wakehurst is massive, and it can accommodate a huge number of people... as long as you don't expect to get into the restaurant

It might be worth giving Nymans a ring to make sure the bluebells are still out in force - they keep an updated blackboard of what's in bloom
