Not so much cheap as inexpensive. They're much better quality than the cheap Chinese ones (which screw together). I think my first ever set (brought 20-30 years ago) is identical to these, they still work perfectly too. The only down side is no pass through of electrical signals.

not automatic so selling now as I just acquired better ones from LennyBloke.
The lever on the smallest one is a little crooked but still works fine.
all in all great fun for macro shooting with a large variety of lenses
