Yes, I think 1 - I like the composition, well balanced and I like the fact you have a little movement in the water but not too smooth. and the drama of 4 is very strong.
Hope you didnt get too cold and wet! At least teh K5 can take it! (although the Sigma may not have faired so well)
Putting aside number 1 I'm not sure the others are working as portrait shots. My eyes are drawn to the edges of the frame to see what else might be there.
Thanks for sharing.

japers45, thankfully the Sigma isn't showing any ill-effects
The entrance to the pier is blocked off by a big metal fence, a small part of which can be seen in 2 and 5. Personally I found this to be distracting if composing images further in this direction.
Thanks for the feedback.

I love no.4, Adrian.
Makes me feel wistful. Can't wait to head back north: a couple of visits booked for this year. God willing!

No. 4 for me.
It is always difficult photographing rough water as it always looks a lot flatter in photographs for some reason

Hyram, indeed the sea was much rougher than is depicted in these images.
Thanks all.

The old pier has taken a battering this winter, and as can be seen many of the supporting beams have now falled off (the top section has also started to buckle).
I got a bit too close to the action on one of the shots, and got a bit wet for my troubles
