Hi guys n gals, I am back safe n sound and now a week later just over the jetlag!

It as been four months since I set off to India, New Zealand and South Pacific. It was new and exciting having a DSLR with me this time instead of 35mm and traveling with a net-book plus peripherals and all went smoothly.

Anyway, missed you all but back again with 80GB,s of images!

I thought this link from my blog might be of help to some thinking of traveling in the future, any questions please feel free to PM me.

Have I missed anything exciting in my absence?

John Riley declared his love for all things Canon, George was made a peace ambassador by the UN and Mike-P sold all his lenses to buy a single 18-250 superzoom.

Other than that nah, it's all been quite quiet around here...

Nice to see you back anyway!

Camilla... She's a horsey type so they should have shot her.

80Gb of post process will keep you busy for a while, I'll be keeping an eye on flickr, welcome back.

Welcome back Lilly.

Which lenses did you take with you, and which of those lenses did you not use or use very little?

Are there any lenses you wish you had taken?

Well, I took seven lenses in all:

50mm 1.4 FA
135mm 2.8 FA
80-320mm FA
18-55 DA
30mm F1.4 Sigma
10-20mm Sigma
LENSBABY 'Composer'

I used the most: 30mm; 50mm; 135mm; Lensbaby Composer

I hardly touched the zooms, mainly because I have come to the conclusion the image quality is just not there as with my primes.

If I could have afforded a 20mm prime to take with me I would have been very happy, maybe next year!

I did get rather frustrated when in the wildlife sanctuary of Little Rann of Kutch not having a fast longer focal length lens to photograph the flamingoes, cranes, pelicans etc. but then I am not usually into wildlife. A perfect solution would be to hire one.
I did manage to get a couple of shots with the 80-320, but I have come to realise wildlife photography is another skill that doesn't come easily to me.

All in all I found my primes to be perfect for the job and I feel my most happiest and confident when working with them.

I took my AF360FGZ and never used it once !
