Today's Kingfisher Shots

Out early on this beautiful sunny day and sat at my usual spot before 7AM. Camo gear on and packing light with just the K5IIs, DA*300mm + 1.7x AFA..... and a small flask of coffee!
When settling on some of the favoured perches, the 510mm focal length seems just right, so these are uncropped. Poor thing could have used a tissue though! Must have gone after that fish in shallow water.

Must say, I am loving this combo. I never got results that I liked with the DA*300mm + AFA on the K5, but on the K5IIs, the focus seems to be spot on right out the box, so it's now my favourite setup and I am leaving the Bigma at home more and more.

Here are some from this morning.

Some cracking shots, good to hear you're getting on with the DA*300 + 1.7x combo.

I have two families of Kingfishers in my garden and know exactly where they perch. Unfortunately the background from most angles is awful and pictures never do justice, and the only good angle is diagonally through double glazing !

Lovely captures, I wish I could find a resident near me to pose like this.
Cheers
Brian.
LBA is good for you, a Lens a day helps you work, rest and play.

Thanks everyone.

Gamka - Kingfishers at the bottom of the garden? I am soooo jealous!

michaelblue - not sure what the problem would be as everyone else can see them ok. Can you see other shots ok?
