To me, this man was a mentor.

It just took me several years to realise it. I read the ink off the pages of his review of the *istD. Promptly flew over to New York (business trip) and bought an *istD from Willoughby's as they were the cheapest in the city. I took three lenses with me, a 17mm f/4 FE, a 15mm and a 28mm. All manual focus. It turn out to be one of the most rewarding weeks photography I can remember.

So who was he?

Herbert Kepler.
