Crop away the lowest half of the beach. Maybe the lowest third. It will accentuate the greatness of the ocean more. Just IMHO obviously.

Yeah - I agree with Malo; crop but not too much to add greatness to the ocean. Also perhaps just cutting out the two dogs maybe?

Though I have to say I like the image - have you considered b/w too? Just a thought - it might be worth doing to give more of a silouette/contrast of the surfer against the sea. The colour version may end up still looking better, but it's something I'd play around with a bit.

I agree Martin. Not enough happening in the foreground to make it worth keeping (IMHO).
Getting there! Thanks to you guys

I would crop to the top of the light coloured beach and keep the dogs.

Lovely shot though. Those limiteds look so sweet... I must get one someday!

Well, The monochrome version works, but I am not sure it works so much better to sacrifice the colour.I think if you loose one dog it gives a bit more feeling about solitude. "The man and the sea" kind of stuff.
Just an example, a bit cropped, cloned and desaturated.

Of course I delete it, when you want to, Clarky.

Yes, I like it with the one dog, and I personally prefer this to the colour - but I'm wondering if the sea is just a bit too dark perhaps?

I prefer the colour. I like mono, but don't think it works as well in this image ( IMHO )

I like the colour version better, also.
But I do think the crop and eliminating one dog works better.

Martin.

Martin.

Cant really comment on this one Clarky, the image doesn't really convey a sense of the place, maybe if you sent me some airline tickets I could visit and give you a better idea

Actually I like Malo's crop, the guy on the third and just the one dog, not sure about the B&W though, keep it colour.

I love monochrome but in this case I think colour works much better. Definitely put the guy on the third.

Thanks for all your comments.

I never considered a mono version and too be honest I think the colour version works best.

I do like Martins crop and cloning out one of the dogs, it works for me. Tahnks again.
