Thoughts on Fullscreen photography websites?

I have been using a full screen website for ages. The problem is you need a good web hosting package to make sure your website is fast.
Secondly, most screens are now 16:9 or 16:10 and laptops can be all odd sizes. A 1920 x 1080 shot does look great but due to the screens can be compromised by the aspect of the screen the website is being viewed on. My opening pages are now a photograph within at 3:2 on an HD image. By that I mean the image is 1920 x 1080 but the image you see on the opening page in 1275 x 850. Doing this will also allow me to have portrait orientated shots in the sideshows.
The galleries at this time are all 1920 x 1080 but I am in the process of changing all the galleries to be like the home page.
But yes having large images does have an good impact. The down side is you can't usually get a lot on text on your homepage which affects your SEO.

Hit F11 and any website becomes full screen ( In firefox at least )
Of course that doesn't mean the content does.
I upload my pics to my website at 1400 ( now 1450 ) px wide. I thought that was a good compromise to cater for peeps with small and larger screens.
I wish this forum would display pics wider than 800. It's a bit dinasaur.

Fullscreen F11 in my Firefox menu..... but I use a small
Cherry keyboard that only goes up to F10
The workaround is [Fn Key] + F1

There are Pentax websites around with this feature built in
Fullscreen websites are fine, except that everyone's fullscreen is a different size. So you really want a website which will display at the user's size of screen. See above.

Fullscreen websites are popular these days. I think they work excellently for photography websites as photos get seen in very large size, makes them more dramatic.
Anyone here using a fullscreen site and what's your thoughts on them?
(I know at the end of the day it's the content that counts but the delivery also matters).
