Well worth the wait, Steve.
1 & 3 for me.
Great sense of depth in #1.
'Course, I'm from frosty Quebec, so #3 is kinda special.
Cheers

number 3 for me as well . been up the Roaches too many times to mention.
no 2 the wall seems to split the picture and also leads the eye off the page, IMHO but I am just learning.

Thanks peter, I am not really in to HDR anyway, though i would like to have a play around with it sometime.
However I have done a bit of Dodging and Burning on photo No.3 and will posy both versions again here, perhaps you could comment on which you prefer?
First so its easy to compare, the original.

And now the Photoshopped version, literally just a little dodge and burn.

I still like the original better. The processed version looks unnatural. Good effort though.
HDR helps with scenes that have extremes of dark and light areas and ideally needs multiple bracketed exposures. Your scene doesn't fit that criteria. It might be interesting to experiment but I doubt the original would be improved.

#3, I found the sheep on the distant hill to the right rather distracting

Roland,
That's it!
I KNEW there was something about #1 that was throwing me off.
I keep trying to count them and fall asleep every time!
Still like the first shot quite a lot though, I find it has a great sense of space and depth with the cloud shadow in upper left vs perfectly slanted early morning light in lower right.

I hung around and struggled with cold fingers until there was some light at least, funny how all thoughts of hyperfocal distance and other technical aspects were cast aside whilst I was suffering.
Anyway here are 3 of the shots I took, not that great but would like C&C anyway.
Regards
Steve
